London, UK 7th April, 2025 – VEV, the e-fleet solutions provider backed by Vitol – a world-leader in the energy sector – today announces that its proprietary e-fleet management and optimisation platform, VEV-IQ, has achieved two certifications from the leading global electric-vehicle charging body, Open Charge Alliance.
VEV-IQ has been certified to comply with two designations under the rigorously assessed Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 1.6 standard. The certifications ensure VEV-IQ becomes one of a highly select-few charge-station management systems to meet the globally recognised standards for universal charging-technology compatibility.
Established in 2014, the Open Charge Alliance is a non-profit organisation formed by influential e-mobility organisations around the world – dedicated to fostering the development and adoption of open standards and protocols in sustainable charging.
VEV’s cutting-edge software has secured compliance with the OCPP 1.6 Fully Certified and 1.6 Security Certified standards, reaffirming the platform’s meticulously engineered, exceptionally safe, and robust design, alongside its universal compatibility with EV charge-point technology.
While leading the way in the UK alongside a handful of pioneering, OCPP-compliant charging-station management-system providers, VEV-IQ has become the first OCPP 1.6-verified solution available in France – blazing a trail for others to follow in the race to effectively electrify fleets.
VEV delivers a comprehensive, turnkey solution for fleets needing to electrify – from design and planning, through to build and operational implementation. VEV-IQ forms a core part of the business’ offering, enabling fleet managers to take control of their vehicle-, smart-charging- and energy-infrastructure through one portal – helping them to achieve a cost-efficient and sustainable transition to electric power.
Mike Nakrani, CEO of VEV said: “The Open Charge Point Protocol is seen as the gold-standard for universal charging-point technology compatibility and security. The Open Charge Alliance’s protocols not only play an enormous role in helping fleets to electrify much easier and faster, but also for protecting the communication between charging infrastructure and management systems from costly cyber-attacks.
“Fleets cannot afford to invest in technology that does not effectively futureproof their assets and the success of their electric transition. The new OCPP certifications for VEV-IQ are a fitting testament to the quality of the product and our commitment to technological innovation, and we look forward to helping more fleets electrify with peace of mind.”
